Come join in a day of fishing and fun in support of the Children's Miracle Network. The tournament is held at the St. James Boat Club on March 24, 2012 from 8:00am-8:00pm.
Come to Oak Alley Plantation on March 24-25 for the 21st Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Festival. More than 170 booths of artists from around the United States will be there with the unique items to sell. As always, there will be festival activities for children to enjoy as well as an array of delicious local foods for all members of your family. All proceeds will be used for the preservation, upkeep and maintenance of Oak Alley Plantation, a National Historic Landmark. The festival is held each day from 9:00-5:00. Admission is $5 for ages 10yrs and older and free to those guests 9yrs and younger.
The Cochon de Lait Festival will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Grand Point Fire Station starting at 10:30am. There will be delicious food, a washerboard tournament, and a Cracklin’ Cookoff Contest. Live music will be provided by Kenny Cornett/ Killin Time from 2:00-6:00 pm. An auction will be held at 4:00pm with proceeds benefiting the Louisiana Lions Cripple Children Camp, Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, Heart Fund Association, E.L. Roussel Scholarship Award, Eye Glasses for the Needy, and the St. James Parish Jr. Livestock Show, 4-H & FFA.
Relay for Life is an all night, relay-style event where participants take turns walking around the track for the duration of the event. There will be food, games, and entertainment. Proceeds from this fundraising event will benefit the American Cancer Society and their fight against cancer. The St. James Parish Relay for Life will be held at Lutcher Park from 3:00pm, Saturday, April 14 to 5:00am Sunday, April 15, 2012.

The Little Red Church Food & Fun Festival is celebrating 31 years at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. The festival features bands, dance performances, pageants, pant ball, Karate exhibitions, carnival rides and Louisiana cuisine.
Join the annual Run/Walk with the 10K starting on the levee path across from The Seafood Pot at 14386 River Road in Destrehan and crossing the Hale Boggs Bridge to the West Bank Bridge Park in Luling. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. at the East Bank Bridge Park in Destrehan. This race is the largest race over the Mississippi River in the nation and provides participants the opportunity to see a panoramic view of the river and beautiful St. Charles Parish.
